Our tour starts at the Roscheider Hof open-air museum. We walk a bit through Roscheid and soon reach the forest. We hike downhill on the root path, accompanied by the Röderbach. Halfway up, the path leads through the vineyards of Niedermennig. We go uphill past the Falkensteiner Hof into the shady forest. Higher and higher, the Priestbach flows next to us. We emerge from the forest, in front of us is a huge wheat field. We hike along the field, past the sky swing, across the wide plateau. From the bench with a landscape frame, we enjoy the wonderful view through the Moselle valley to Wasserbillig. A very nice new hike, narrow paths through the forest, beautiful views, varied...top notch.
So, I've already read a lot about it and today I hiked the tour myself..... The first impression of our hiking group... It was good 😉, one or two more places to sit and the route would have 8 out of 10 points.
This relatively new, 7km long detour is a beautiful and varied tour that I really enjoyed! Forest paths, a stream, vineyards, great views and the swing...what more could you want!? It was still grey and rainy at the beginning, but the universe sent me blue skies with sunshine, which of course made the tour much more beautiful...it made the vine leaves shine and warmed me during the break on the sky swing. If I repeat this tour at some point, I will plan more time to visit the open-air museum with its beer garden.
Premium circular hiking trail with extraordinary experiences, fantastic views and beautiful scenery. From the Roscheider Hof open-air museum, the hiking trail leads through the Roscheid district and further along a narrow, rustic forest path, which is also called the root path because of its many roots. Through the stream valley, you go to the vineyards of Niedermennig with wonderful views of the Konzer Tälchen, which was still a valley of the Moselle more than four million years ago. Continuing through forest areas, vineyards and open meadows, you reach the Roscheid plateau. From there, you have an impressive panoramic view over Trier to Luxembourg. The imposing giant chair in the middle of the vineyards and the sky swing, on which you can swing in a relaxed manner, offer extraordinary experiences with fantastic views along the way. The large landscape frame directs the view to the confluence of the Saar and Moselle and offers a beautiful backdrop for the final photo stop. Source: /www.saar-obermosel.de
An interesting path with a nice elevation profile. The route builders have come up with something with a giant bench, sky swing and landscape frame. This loosens things up. The route is very muddy after rain, however, this is due to the source area in the mountain. It would be interesting to find out more about the streams and districts, after all, the Priestbach also goes through Trier territory. In midsummer, almost the last stretch of the route across the field is of course difficult due to the lack of shade. So it is ideal in the dry season when the sun is not intense. My summary: nicely done, but I have hiked nicer routes.
After a long time, we went hiking again from Konz Roscheider Hof: the Konzer Höhenweg. Beautiful, varied route with forest and open fields. We walked it as instructed. Shortly after the Falkensteiner Hof estate, there was a table with benches and a viewing platform into the Konzer Tälchen. About 2 km before the Roscheider Hof, we came to the Höhenschaukel and about a km further on, there was the landscape frame with seating. As it had rained a lot recently, part of the route was very muddy Unfortunately, it was very oppressive today, so I was sweating, even though the route is not that strenuous overall. (Somehow my pictures got lost, unfortunately)
A beautiful, varied and scenic hiking tour through forest, vineyards and fields🤩
Absolutely perfect when the new escapade starts exactly 150 meters from my mother's house😁 The start is at the Roscheider Hof open-air museum in Konz Roscheid. 90% of the time I do this route (root path) when I'm here every few weeks, so there was nothing new. Nevertheless, the route is fantastic! The 3 highlights are: 1: "Picture frame" with a view of Wasserliesch in the Moselle valley. 2: Sky swing with a view of Roscheid and the Tälchen 3: Giant bench with a view over the vineyards to Niedermennig in Tälchen. Great route!!!
