Today's tour took me from Au on a long and crisp ascent through the Berbigen mountain pasture, past the Guardian Angel Chapel and the upper Sattelalpe to my first destination, the 1637 m high Mittagsfluh. Unfortunately, it was almost completely shrouded in fog and the view was accordingly poor. Then it went to the Liegstein, an imposing lookout rock with vertically sloping rock walls. Unfortunately here completely without a view. The descent ran past the Alpe Sattelegg, Wika and Holand back to Au. The way back was suboptimal for my taste. Most of them are very paved, sometimes even asphalted farm roads with at times very steep gradients. And the last section runs almost in a straight line over pastures and through forest. It was more strenuous for me to run than the climb.
Today we tackle another Fluh: the Mittagsfluh. The mountain is not high but the ascent is not without ... But first we make an interesting stop at the mountain distillery in the Löwen inn. We'll visit them again on the way back. We're not dragging the schnapps bottles to the summit cross! 🤣🤣 At the Kuratienkirche Rehmen we take a dip at the fountain. The star (sun) gives everything in late summer. That doesn't make the ascent any easier either. After a steep ascent in the forest, we make a detour to the Rehmer Bach waterfall. Shortly before the last houses we meet the Guardian Angel Chapel before we take the steep path to the Alm. Sweaty and thirsty, we take a break in the shady forest. Then it goes now to the summit cross. The summit cross is a little different than usual and stands in the middle of the forest. Here we have a snack break and then it goes back to the valley. Past the Untersattelalpe and Satteleggalpe, the path leads partly along the Rehmer Bach. The descent is much more pleasant and not as steep as the ascent. Of course we haven't forgotten the schnapps distillery. After tasting some types of schnapps and shopping, we return to the starting point. Summary: the ascent is not to be underestimated. And a visit to Gasthaus Löwen is a must. 🍷🍷
Hello Hello, Today the Alpgang circuit near Au-Rehmen was on the agenda. During this round, the cultivation of the alpine pastures, which has been common for centuries, is explained. The management of the alpine pastures and their history is shown on various boards, which are always stuck into a larger boulder. There is a small Alpgang circuit and a large one. We did the big loop - there are around 800 meters in altitude to overcome and there are long, steep climbs. The absolute highlight is the detour to the Liegstein. From there you have a great view of the Bregenzerwald towards Lake Constance, towards Mellau and Damüls as well as the Kanisfluh, which stands majestically right in front of you. The tour is not entirely "without". But also hardly committed. We were pretty much alone. Disadvantage: You pass various mountain pastures, but none of them are managed - so there are only rest stops in the valley in Au. Maybe that's also the reason why the round is not committed like this: no cable car nearby, many HM to cope with and no possibility to stop for refreshments. But still a wonderful, promising round.
Nice hike from Au to Mittagsfluh🥾👍. The hike starts in Au at the church, after a few meters "warm-up time" it goes straight up a great forest path (Wadenzwickwaldweg) up to the Berngath chapel. Over the Berbingenvörsäss further up a steep meadow slope to the "Oberen Sattelalpe" and to the inconspicuous summit of the "Mittagsfluh" ✝️👍🥾. A short distance back and on to the "Viewpoint Liegstein" Here you have a wonderful view of the Kanisfluh, as well as incredible "deep views" down to Au etc.👀👀👍💚. Via the Untere Sattel Alpe, the Sattelegg Alpe and the Wika Tobel with a beautiful waterfall, you return to Rehmen (Au). A stop at Gasthof Schiff before taking the bus back to Dornbirn. The weather wasn't that special today, but the splendor of the crocus blossom 💚👍 and the mountain panorama with the snow-covered mountains like the Diedamskopf, Hochkünzelspitze Brendler Lug, Üntschenspitze etc. made up for it. 👍👍💚💚
Because my phone's battery was dead, I had to delete the data before returning to Au-Rehmen. Beautiful view from the Liegenstein.
