Slagsteeg unpaved section

Highlight (Segment) β€’ Cycleway

Amazing backroad / Strade Bianche gravel road. In between farmers fields and a classic row of trees. It's doable on road racers but it's also loose, so maybe a bit sketchy for some on small tires.

Officially this is an access route for the mountain bike routes on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, but it also ends at the intersection of various public cycle paths. Beautiful wide dirt road.

Trail Reviews

Stoopendaal. nl
December 11, 2021, Gravel Ride over de Utrechtse Heuvelrug

Yesterday we had a nice ride over the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, starting at the Prologue in Amerongen! The ride went to the Grebbe Line and via Rhenen to Arnhem! Discovered many beautiful gravel paths and also nice new parts of the Netherlands, although in some parts there was little to see because of the quite persistent fog! Funny to see that there was thick fog in places and nothing at all a hundred meters away, the nature continues to amaze! You can find the route here at Gijs Bruinsma's komoot account! Along the way we came to the most beautiful places the route was easy to cycle, not really thick muddy places full of water and mud like the past few times! Highly recommended to drive the route! In Amerongen (especially at the weekend) keep in mind the many mountain bikers because of the busy beautiful mtb route there!
