Beautiful circular hike that is definitely worth a day trip. The tour is basically doable for everyone and not very demanding, provided you are reasonably fit 😉. The three towers (Carolinenturm, Hainturm and Paulinenturm) are all in good condition and can also be visited (note opening times!). There are enough places to stop for a break - here too, note opening times and days off - especially in the section between Oettern and Buchfahrt. There are enough places to sit, even for a longer rest. One negative point is that a large part of the route is on gravel paths and some asphalt paths. Unfortunately, there are very few real forest path sections. Because the A4 is cut, the hike is also accompanied by the background noise of the motorway for a long time. There are a few places where there are no signposts.
A very beautiful and, above all, very well signposted circular route. The circular hiking trail connects the Paulinenturm in Bad Berka with the Hainturm near Weimar and the Carolinenturm near Blankenhain. On the circular route you can stop off at 3 forest restaurants, each one more idyllic than the last. Thank goodness I didn't have to choose because there were bratwurst and soft ice cream along the way 😊. At the end we went to the park at the Goethe fountain, filled up with healing water and at the end we went to the Kneipp facility for our feet 😀
Very nice circular route. Recommendation: Download the app of the same name. This is a great audio guide with interesting expert information, history and legends.
https://www.wanderbaren-deutschland.de/wege/alle-wege/thueringer-drei-tuerme-weg-43afd250f7 It was the turn of the only quality hiking trail in the Weimarer Land today. Unfortunately, I slept for a long time this morning, so the actual tour didn't start until noon. The Hainturm and Carolinenturm were open. Unfortunately, the view was not too special today and the story of Caroline Reuss zu Greiz, who died early, should be read at home and not over a beer at Gasthaus Müllershausen. Unfortunately, it was too late for the Paulinenturm, so I have to visit it from Bad Berka at some point. All in all, a round trip that I can clearly recommend. Only between Gasthaus Müllershausen and the Paulinenturm was it not so exciting, but otherwise very interesting.
Yesterday there was a storm, but today we hiked, so some paths were very muddy. Screw it... the tour was simply beautiful. The towers are gorgeous to look at, and the views over Weimar and Bad Berka are fantastic...😂😂 Even the long walks and the villages were never boring. The finale at the Paulinenturm in the restaurant with coffee, ice cream, and wild garlic soup was a must...☕️🍨
And once again a visitor from the north in Thuringia. Today we went with @Tina kissling on the Three Towers Trail between Bad Berka in bright sunshine through flowering fields... oh no, different: in rain, thunderstorms through forests and fields under a grey sky 😅 It was still nice, funny, great conversations and lots of laughter. I'd love to do it again 🙂
What a mega tour! I can only recommend the Thüringer Drei-Türme-Weg to all hiking fetishists! Even without #komoot, you can find your way around well, because the whole trail is super signposted with the 3-tower symbol. 👌🏻 >27km that are worth it. Through shady and sunny forest paths with many resting places and, besides the 3 towers, which only appear further on, also other great experiences. Gastronomically, you can also stop off frequently along the route. The "Männerwirtschaft" at Campingplatz Oettern was unfortunately closed, but I can still warmly recommend the campsite to camping friends, nice operators and you can also rent (ostalgic) sleeping places. Experience it yourself, hike it, I 💚 Thuringia
I've often seen and liked the Thuringian Three Towers Trail here on komoot. That definitely made me curious 🧐 and now it was time for me to discover the historic towers, the Hain, the Carolinen and the Paulinenturm on a tour. 🚶🏻♂️ And I was very enthusiastic about this varied hiking trail today. 😃 Many forests and fields, through which the path leads in the Weimarer Land, alternate with small villages that have been spruced up quite nicely. I crossed the Ilm twice and went under the A4 in a double pack. Well, the latter might not be quite as worth seeing. 🙄 The sun 🌞 was also relatively kind to me and it managed to break through the curtain of clouds on two thirds of the way. 🌤 Luckily also on the Kötsch. Winter or not, nature on this hilltop was not quite in agreement and the Carolinenturm was surrounded by white snow ❄️. There was always a wonderful view over the country.

Hello, is it allowed to ride a horse on the Three Towers Trail?
