Tour template: https://www.outdooractive.com/mobile/de/route/wanderung/weimar-weimarer-land/ludwig-haefner-weg/31262250/ The lecturer was gracious today and only lasted until well after 3 a.m. in the afternoon. This gave me enough time to drive to the Weimarer Land and hike this, still open, Bad Berka circular route. The Paulinenturm was still open and offered a very nice view of Bad Berka and towards Weimar.

This Ludwig Häfner trail is simply sooooo great. The weather was sunny, which made for a great walk. It did us a lot of good. Where were the other potential hikers?? The restaurant at the Paulinenturm was open, but we were still 'full', so we didn't go in. The Paulinenturm is on the Adelsberg, has 136 steps, was opened in 1884 and the restaurant only in 1935. Next time we'll go in too. We took a few photos along the way, more for fun and just for the fun of it.

Hike to the Paulinenturm. The inn is open Friday - Sunday from 11am - 4pm in winter. It was delicious.😋

a very nice round, start is the foot on the Adelsberg, then it goes to the Paulinenturm, brief info ... With its 26 meters the popular observation tower towers over the city. The landmark of Bad Berka was built in 1884 from regional limestone on the 416 meter high Adelsberg. In order to show the connection between the small spa town and the Greater Thuringia, the Paulinenturm was named after the Hereditary Grand Duchess Pauline of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach. If you want to enjoy a fantastic view over the Middle Ilm Valley in all directions, you have to climb 143 steps. The physical exertion is worth it - try it out! And when the flag is hoisted on the tower, the physical well-being in the restaurant "Zum Paulinenturm" is also taken care of at the foot. Then it's off to the Kneipp forest ... There is no healthier way to hike. On this entertaining circular route, not only springs and treading pools await the hiker, but also a small, colorful rhododendron garden in the midst of natural splendor of forests. Nothing for warm showerers - everyone is guaranteed to get cold feet on this Thuringia hike! Finally, you can enjoy a coffee or a beer in the Altes Brauhaus restaurant .... I wish you a good round and a lot of fun .....
