The Veltliner bike tour through the hilly landscape of the Weinviertel region. We passed several towns with their beautiful cellar lanes 🏘️, unfortunately none of which were open; perhaps we were too early. That was a shame, because the weather was great, and we would have loved to stop for a bite to eat. A break was then offered in Laa an der Thaya, where we had a delicious meal at the "Freilich" 😋 Refreshed, we returned to Poysdorf, a truly wonderful wine-growing town 🍇
I started the Veltliner tour in Poysdorf, the signage is perfect, on the whole circuit, only before Poysdorf at the end of the circuit. There is a sign mounted very low and partly hidden by the grass. The circuit is ideal for SUVs, trekking gravel and MTBs (not too gobes Ptofil). The route runs mainly on agricultural paths, through fields and vineyards, leads through small villages and small passages on quiet country roads. The roads are in very good condition, few gravel passages. From Poysdorf to Otenthal the circuit is slightly hilly, after which there are some tough climbs. The
Beautiful hilly landscape. A special treat with excellent wine in the Falkenstein cellar. Easy to drive if you take your time.
Austria - a country of stunning landscapes and terrifying kitsch. This strange monument with 3 men on a bench is not a joke, but a commemoration of the Germans expelled from Czechoslovakia in 1945. I am only thinking about translating the description into Czech; is grammatically and orthographically correct, but sounds like a 1942 announcement by the Nazi occupation authorities. And I wonder if it's because the original cannot be translated in a different way, or if the translator made a mockery of himself.
