The Sauer-Musel tour is safe to ride on August 17th and 18th as part of the Vëlosummer and is characterized by beautiful sections along the Sauer and Mosel. After starting at Wasserbillig train station, right on the border with Germany, you first cycle along the Mosel to the mouth of the Sauer. The first climb is already waiting for you - on the way to Bech you gain a few meters in altitude.
At the former Bech train station, which now houses a restaurant, you switch to the Echternach-Luxembourg railway cycle path. The route runs through a beautiful landscape with rock faces, streams, rest areas and forests. Once you arrive in Echternach, you can visit the medieval town center.
The route continues along the meandering Sauer through pretty villages such as Moersdorf. On the national cycle path PC3 you pass romantic vineyards and then slowly cycle back to Wasserbillig, your starting point.

Today I was out and about in Luxembourg. It was a great cycle path, but visibility was somewhat limited this morning due to fog.
Very nice round trip from Wasserbillig along the Sauer to Echternach. From there over a section of the former narrow-gauge railway (Luxembourg-Echternach) to Consdorf and then down again over wide fields into the Mullerthal to the Moselle to Wasserbillig. The route is very varied and easy to drive even in midsummer, as it contains many shady passages. There are also e-bike charging stations and bicycle repair stations with tools on the route. Finally, take the ferry across the Moselle to the mouth of the Saar in Konz. From there over the railway bridge to Igel and along the Moselle back to Wasserbillig.
A beautiful tour through the Luxembourg hinterland and along the Sûre.
Albert and I decided to go cycling in Luxembourg today on a whim. We followed the Velosummer route, and it's simply perfect. Varied, with hills and valleys, a railway cycle path and a river cycle path. Only the best! The pictures prove it. However, we were only able to photograph a small part of the tour; otherwise, we'd still be on the road.
From Wasserbillig, at 5 degrees, we drove on the German side towards Echternach. Part of the old railway lines through the autumn-colored forest. In Echternach on the main square, we made our break. Sheltered from the wind, you could enjoy the autumn sun here. We continue on an old railway line through the small Mullerthal. Beautiful through the brightly colored forest with its typical rocks. A nice autumn tour, blue sky, few cyclists and the beautiful autumn colors.
Start of the tour at the bridge, there are parking spaces but only for cars Coordinates 49.81317 6.42562 https://maps.app.goo.gl/BSfDVDLfi7MzTqp98
A great bike ride, first along the beautiful Sauer River, then a quick coffee stop by the Moselle. Then the ups and downs began on quiet roads with fantastic views, with a railway line in between, and constant sunshine and shade. And as a reward, long descents. Thanks for the great tour, whoever it was 👍😊🌳🤸🚴

Is it correct that Komoot says that you have to climb a long flight of stairs right at the start/finish? That would be too much for me with my e-bike.
