Hiking

Nestled between the Iglesiente, Campidano and Guspinese, the Marganai, the southern part of the Monte Linas massif, is crossed by numerous streams. Among these, the Oridda stream creates the spectacular Piscina Irgas waterfall, approximately 40 meters high, the destination of this evocative tour. In winter, with the stream at full flow, the return along the riverbed requires considerable technical effort, with numerous fords . In this area, from the end of May to mid-June, you can taste the delicious cherries of Villacidro and, all year round, savor the sweet saffron liqueur, a lively yellow.

From the Cantina Ferraris car park, continue along the dirt road that runs along the Rio Cannisoni, climbing gently and passing by small lakes perfect for a refreshing dip.

Leaving the Rio Cannisoni, the route climbs steeper with numerous hairpin bends that lead to a natural viewpoint. From here, a breathtaking view opens onto the sinuous valley of the Rio Oridda, offering you a unique perspective on the Piscina Irgas waterfall. The path descends steeply towards the river bed, where small green pools shine in the sun.

Going up the stream, you reach the base of the waterfall, with its enchanting emerald lake. For the return, we suggest you follow the path backwards, as the continuation along the stream is only suitable for those with more experience.
