Cycling

This tour offers a unique experience along the Piave river up to Montello, following long stretches of the "La Piave" cycle path, incomplete but passable.

The itinerary develops in a ring: the starting and arrival point is the Pederobba Cavaso Possagno railway station. If, however, you arrive by car you can park it in one of the nearby car parks. Nearby is the Vagabond Bike shop, where you can get information, rent a bike or take advantage of other useful services.

You can warm up your legs on the first flat stretch with a dirt but compact surface. Leaving the banks of the Brentella Canal, you face the long climb that takes you to the Montello ridge.

The view of the imposing Monte Cesen and the rolling Prosecco hills rising in the distance distracts you from the effort. Thus you reach the top of Montello, where the church of Santa Maria della Vittoria is located.

Diving headlong downhill, but with due caution, you land on the banks of the same canal pedaling on roads with little (or no) traffic. You travel along some stretches in the shade of the acacias that give you refreshment and face the final part of the Tour which takes you to the castles of Onigo, where you can cycle immersed in the quiet up to the arrival point.

This cycle path with a dirt but compact surface runs alongside the Brentella di Ponterobba. Here you can cycle in the cool and safely, enjoying the views that open up along this artificial canal that diverts the water from the Piave.

Montello Ridge

Highlight • Cycleway

This pleasant asphalt road winds along the coasts of Montello, the red earth hill that rises, isolated and well defined, in the northern part of the Piave.
Here you pedal on fairly gentle but not negligible slopes amidst lush vegetation.

The Filanda Marcato was built around 1870 in front of the Brentella canal which provided the energy to move the machinery. The production of industrial hemp yarns continued until almost the 1970s, suffering competition from new artificial fabrics and now its renovated buildings host various activities, including a Tipoteca or a museum of character and typography
