Superb walk in the middle of the vineyards along the Moselle then going up the hechterbach through a forest that seems enchanted. Then back down to the confluence with the Moselle via an old Roman road.
I am totally enthusiastic about this small but wonderful adventure tour! At times you even walk on large stepping stones through the rushing Spirzinger stream and feel a bit like you are in the jungle on the forest paths. After walking through the Helterbach valley, the two ladders and a few steps lead up through the vineyard to the Rosenberg to the viewing pavilion.
Adventurous hike with many highlights 😮

Net time about 1:25 hours, we strolled quite a bit. What a wonderful little walk for in between 🤗 The only downside is the signage, which could be a bit clearer at the start of the tour. You walk along the Moselle on the left and then there is no sign - just a railway crossing. Here you should just keep walking straight through the meadow, that's the right way. We went back to the railway crossing at some point and learned that you can ring the bell there and then the barrier will open. Once you get to the other side, you have to let them know again. That was very funny 🤗 The path is not suitable for dogs, you should also be sure-footed and not afraid of heights. A little bit of adventure in everyday life - very nice! @Petra 🖤 Thanks for sharing and for the advice on dogs🤩👍🏻
Today we walked the "Moselsteig Side Jump Wehrer Rosenberg" in wonderful weather. The tour started quite unspectacularly on the Moselle. Then it went under a bridge, which was followed by an increase. In our opinion, the route did not have much to offer in terms of landscape up to that point (approx. km 2.5). It got interesting after we left the Hefanter mill on our left. Here we went under a bridge again. Here we crossed the "Spirziger Bach" over stones. The route then leads briefly past a field until you get into the forest. Here we followed the "Helterbach" until we arrived back at the starting point of the ascent. Then we went on narrow stairs and ladders through the vineyards until we reached the "viewing pavilion". Finally, it was a leisurely descent back to the starting point.
“Wehrer Rosenberg”. December 2020, wet and cold, mud fight. Today, summer, sun, everything green. We are excited. Let's start at the train station in Wehr. We stroll along the Moselle to the mouth of the Helterbach. Cross the tunnel, small stalactites hang on the ceiling, the “Wehrer Rosenberg” vineyard rises in front of us. We hike uphill past the steep slope through shady forest. A viewing bench invites you to take a coffee break. We enjoy the clear view of the country, the Helfant mill below us, Helfant in the distance. Supplied with caffeine, we hike down into the stream valley. On the stream path we “hop” from stone to stone through the tunnel. A meadow path leads us into an enchanted forest and bush landscape, a narrow path, wild nature, the stream babbling at our side. Benches right by the water invite you to linger. We leave the forest, the via ferrata begins, hikers can climb the Rosenberg using ladders and stairs. Not us today. As on the way there, we walk along the Moselle to the starting point. A great tour, highly recommended in the heat. The return journey takes us via Helfant (visiting the local cathedral) to Bilzingen, then on the Höhenstraße to Konz. We end the day comfortably in the fisherman's house.
