Nice excursion on central Lagorai even if not for everyone. Sections of trail for expert mountaineers with verticals, exposed points and scree. Pleasure for the eyes is guaranteed: 1 peak with a 360 degree view of the surrounding chains, 4 valleys, 3 passes, two lakes and a view of two mountain huts (from above). The Montalon lake under the Pala del Becco is a pearl! Basically you climb up one and go around 2 other peaks
Departure: Passo Manghen Travel time: 5 hours You go up from the SAT 322 path, in the direction of Forcella del Frate, you continue along the right side of the Ziolera peak, to reach first Forcella Ziolera and then Forcella Pala del Becco; the last stretch of this path is marked by the signs as "for expert hikers", as there are some slightly exposed passages that require attention. You then go down on the 322B, which runs along a large, slightly challenging scree until you reach the Montalon lake. You go up to Forcella di Montalon on path 362, and take paths 322 towards Pian delle Fave and 322A up to Lake Buse (I took the deviation that indicated the monumental tree called Re Leone, but there were no signs to recognize which one it was, and furthermore the path was poorly marked and ended up losing some very tall grass near Malga Buse, making it almost difficult to proceed) and then tackle the last short climb to the pass, passing next to the Swiss pine l'Eterno.
