On Easter Monday we hiked the circular hiking trail H3, which is also called "The bird's eye view". And why? Because it's a steep climb at first. Romantic paths and natural forest paths meander through a beautiful mixed forest. A view of the Saale valley sweetens the ascent again and again. The absolute highlight was the basket swing in the sunshine 🌞 The climb was really worth it.
We left early... so as not to get caught in the terrible heat... it was still very warm... but the views were wonderful 🥳

The "Thuringian Sea" is well worth seeing 😉 Although the weather wasn't good today, the visit to the region was a real highlight, would be happy to do it again. 😎
Wonderful Sunday morning hiking tour along the Saale. Hiking start at Hohenwarte Church. Above the church I would have had to turn right first to get to the Tannenberg Hütte. Since I went around to the left, I later had to scramble up the slope a bit. 😲 don't imitate! ✋ I found the hut anyway 😄 Later you follow the H3, one of the circular routes at the Hohenwartestausee, at a leisurely pace. A highlight with a view is "Gustavs Ruh". The refuge Klinkhardtshöhe was already decorated for Easter 🐰! Another highlight: Baummann's rest. A huge bench in the sunshine!!!! I was rather sitting today, optionally lying down... Hiking also means resting 🤣 Cross-country over a trail that was drawn by cyclists into the forest, it went downhill to Günther's Heil, the swing was just free... overall a wonderful round despite the hike start at 0 degrees, the air felt very spring-like in parts
