Bergmähwiesenpfad (Mountain Meadow Trail)

Always a nice and varied tour

In view of the barbaric heat 🥵 I thought about going to Gederner See for today 😎 But, all day alone at the lake, I didn't want to do anything to myself and looked for a short hiking tour for a combination 🤔 And I found this very quickly, because one of my very favorite tours is very close - the beautiful mountain meadow path 🥰🥰 It was very, very hot 🥵, but it was definitely worth it, because an unbelievable splendor of flowers blooms along the entire mountain meadow path 🌺🌼🌸 And now, after a first cooling off in the Gederner See 💦, I will spend the afternoon comfortably here 😎

Recommended, very well signposted hike

In November of last year, I had already made up my mind to walk the mountain meadow path again during the main flowering period. The initial sunshine was soon replaced by rain and thunderstorms. But the colorful meadows full of devil's claws, meadow cranesbills, light carnations, daisies, snake knotweed and and and were still in full bloom, as most of them had not yet been mowed. Only the distant views were not good even now at the beginning of June. Nevertheless, the small extension of the route from the Bergmähwiesenpfad to the west side of the Ernstberg with a view of the Niddertal and the Hoherodskopf was worthwhile.

Today we hiked the Bergmähwiesenpfad (Mountain Meadow Trail) again. The starting point was the parking lot at Herchenhainer Höhe. With temperatures just over 20°C and light cloud cover, the trail was pleasant to complete. More info: https://share.google/iLQ4TdcUbeJqDAIr6

We started at Ernstberg and hiked clockwise toward Herchenhainer Höhe. The climb is tough but manageable. The view from Herchenhainer Höhe is worth the effort. Afterwards, we descend to Hartmannshain, and then continue back to Ernstberg.

This premium hiking trail lives up to its name. Lots of mountains and meadows. Very well signposted and plenty of benches with great views. Highly recommended.

Why should you always rack your brains 🧠 when others have already thought about it? A nice "pre-planned" tour can be found in the Vogelsberg. The start and finish was the car park in Hartmannshain. Always following the signs for "Bergmähwiesenpfad" you will find interesting sections through forests and meadows 🐐🐐🐄🐎 with cultural highlights and beautiful views around the Herchenhainer Höhe. Wonderful!
