There was a nice walk around the Etang de Gruissan. Initially on a cycling/hiking path, then on a path that runs between the water arms back to Gruissan. Today was one of 3 market days/week. Bought a few treats exclusively from local suppliers, sat in the cafe and then finished the round with heavy legs 😨. And now🥱😴 Have a nice holiday
Under an azure sky veiled in a soft autumn mist, a joyful group of ten hikers from La Clamoux set off for Gruissan this Saturday, September 21. On the program: a 6-kilometer walk around the pond, promising a day bathed in nature and conviviality. Our journey began in the Gruissan car park, with the famous Barberousse tower watching over us like a sentinel. The paths, caressed by the sea breeze, invited us on a walk of the senses. The pink flamingos, adorned with their fiery robes, the cormorants diving gracefully and the herons motionless on their perches brightened up our journey. The iodized scents mingled with those of wild herbs, creating a most pleasant olfactory symphony. We crossed the Gruissan market, with its colorful stalls and intoxicating perfumes. At snack time, we shared a well-deserved moment of relaxation under the umbrella pines of La Clape. Laughter and conversation resonated in this idyllic setting.
And another lap around a pond 😁 but what a lap. There is a footpath and cycle path around the Étang de Gruissan, and the Barbarossa Tower can be seen from different perspectives along the entire route. I particularly liked the narrow path between the canal and the Étang. If you come at the right time, you can also see many water birds here, including flamingos. A detour to the historic town center was also a must. At the foot of the castle there is a church that is inconspicuous from the outside, but has beautiful colorful windows and decorations inside. And at the top of the tower (or what is left of it) you have a great view of Gruissan, the sea and the salt pans.
