Discovering home again. This time with the eBike.
Unfortunately battery empty shortly before the finish 😱. Still very nice, recommended.
Exactly three years ago, I downloaded this tour from the Nördlingen Tourist Office, and now it was time to ride it. In glorious sunshine🌞, we set off from the Rieser Sportpark with the Gerd Müller Stadium. First, we cross Augsburger Strasse and over a railway line to the ST2213. The cycle path leads alongside the road to Wemding. After about 12 kilometers, we leave the cycle path and cycle along land consolidation paths to Alerheim and then on to Rudelstetten and Wemding. After a short break, we climb a short distance (yes, we've reached the crater rim) up to the Maria Brünnlein pilgrimage church. We take side roads to Megesheim and follow the cycle path to Oettingen. Not only is there a castle with a beautiful castle park, but Germany's largest brewery is also located here. The mainstream says beer is undrinkable, but in blind tastings, it doesn't come off too badly, and anyone who buys beer in cans or plastic bottles at the supermarket is guaranteed to get Oettinger. After a coffee break, we head off on the final leg to Nördlingen. My conclusion: The tour was rated as difficult, and it is. We had almost twice the elevation gain, and in extreme heat, there aren't many rest and shade spots, which is why I would recommend the tour for autumn, as the Geopark is definitely worth visiting.
Almost without altitude meters, age-appropriate so slowly😅🤭
We really enjoyed the tour through 's Nördlinger Ries! The circumnavigation of Nördlingen on the city wall is an absolute highlight and the city center is very beautiful! When you move around in the Ries, you can almost always see the rim of the crater. Impressive!
