Hiking

Beautiful forest avenues, lush green meadows and the opportunity to observe storks and birds of prey - this varied hike from Steinhude to Idensen offers all this and much more. The twelve-kilometer route requires a certain level of fitness, but rewards you with impressive natural experiences and cultural highlights.

It starts in the charming Scheunenviertel in the middle of Steinhude. On the way out of town, you pass a small open-air museum that invites you to take a short stop. After five kilometers, the town center of Wunstorf is ideal for a well-deserved rest, where hearty and hearty refreshment options await you. The destination is also the highlight of the tour - the Romanesque Sigwardskirche in Idensen. Every year it attracts numerous art and culture enthusiasts, as its original color from the twelfth century has been preserved to this day. At the destination, you have the option of taking the bus back to Steinhude or extending your hike by another seven kilometers and continuing it in the form of a circular route.
