This panoramic tour crosses wide meadows and forest roads, connecting the villages of Daiano, Castello di Fiemme and Cavalese.

Start by following the road from Cavalese towards Tesero and, after about two kilometres, take the climb towards Varena on the left. The itinerary, open and airy, winds through meadows and pastures with splendid views of the Lagorai chain.

From Varena, continue on forest roads surrounded by green alpine meadows. Pay attention to the 300 meter stretch of steep climb on a paved surface immediately after the village of Daiano. Once past this, continue pedaling among wonderful larches and immerse yourself in the dense Solombo forest.

Along the way, discover an unexpected military outpost hidden in the vegetation: war trenches that are now almost one with the surrounding nature. A wooden plaque reminds us that this area was the scene of the First World War. Here begins a circular path (usable with push bikes) that guides you through seven Austrian military posts.

Speed downhill towards San Lugano, before returning to Cavalese on the cycle path and reaching the natural area of the Brozin Biotope, a particularly precious environment for the valley. Return to the starting point passing through the pretty historic center of Castello di Fiemme.

Trenches at San Lugano

Highlight • Historical Site

Above the San Lugano pass, inside the Monte Corno Natural Park, there are the remains of some historic Austro-Hungarian positions from the First World War. The trenches on Mount Salombo are silent guardians of the turbulent past of these areas. These remains offer a fascinating glimpse into the lives of soldiers and the harsh conditions they faced during the conflict.

Brozin Biotope

Highlight • Natural Monument

The local reserve of Brozin, located in the Fiemme area, is a corner of uncontaminated nature which in approximately five and a half hectares contains a surprising variety of botanical, floristic, faunal and geological environments. Between porphyry terraces and depressions that enclose the former Brozin lake, there is a succession of Scots pine forests, peat bogs and ancient pastures.
