What is the best way to enjoy the sensational autumn weather while still catching as many rays of sunshine as possible? Simply hop on your bike and ride in the direction of Diesbar-Seuslitz! The tour was based on the "Saxon Winegrowers' Tour" (https://www.komoot.de/tour/428885941?ref=atd) and led from Radebeul, via Coswig, Weinböhla, Gröbern and several small villages to Diesbar-Seuslitz. In Gävernitz, Komoot let me down, so I followed the street signs and unfortunately did not arrive at the castle through the Seuslitzer Grund as planned. 🤷 My bike then found the way back on the Elbe Cycle Path on its own.
Today a very nice tour via Jessen, Böhla to Diesbar-Seußlitz to the castle park and via Meissen back to Coswig. Mostly beautiful, hardly used side streets with wonderful views over the Elbland. After 12 km, a first stop at the Oelsch bakery in Jessen - an absolute must. Cakes, ice cream, all very tasty. That's okay, today 50 km were announced, otherwise the calorie balance would have been devastating. Diesbar-Seusslitz is always worth seeing and the route on the Elbe cycle path past Meissen is again a pleasure (today there is little traffic).
After we walked in the footsteps of Bacchus at the wine festival in Altkötzschenbroda and enjoyed the good wines from the hard-working Saxon winemakers, it is high time to take a look at the history of wine. The Saxon wine route in the Elbe Valley begins in Diesbar-Seußlitz. That's where we're going today. At the headquarters of the Claus Bakery we enjoy a truly royal five-star breakfast. A Sunday couldn't start better. The bar for the rest of the day is set high. Now it's our turn. Cranking is the order of the day. Up to Wantewitz. We have to stop at the very inviting seating area next to the church. The coffee in the thermos gurgles so loudly that it's almost unbearable. Before anything bad happens here, a remedy will be put in place. Funny, no protest, no one complains and then he gurgles out because everyone has coffee. Go on. Diesbar-Seusslitz is in sight. After a real shooting trip, we stand at the guest's house. We are surrounded by many real sights, the baroque castle, the small farm shop, the castle church, the vineyard with the Luiesenburg, the castle garden and the Heinrichsburg. The designs for the castle come from none other than the architect of the Dresden Frauenkirche, George Bär. Of course, everything doesn't fit into such a daily plan. A short tour to take a look and a look into the church is included. It would be longer, but the way back is still to be driven. The Elbe once again presents itself to us from its most beautiful side. Meißen has been reached. Even from a distance you can see that the city is packed. We had enough of that yesterday. That's why we're pushing the ice cream break to Coswig. Then it’s time to say goodbye again. Rita and Steffen, you are great hosts, travel companions and dear friends. Thank you for the good time we were able to spend with you. Stay healthy.
A nice round in wonderful weather, 27 °C and sunshine 🌞👍🌞

A beautiful, hand-picked round through the wine-growing region, wineries and inns. Take every detour with you, there is an exciting winery behind it....
Great plan, thank you!
