This cross-border round trip takes you to historic buildings, rattling mills and quaint cafés. It starts at the Bocholt Tourist Information Centre, which is just a stone's throw from the wonderful market square. From the lively town centre you then move into the quiet Bocholt town forest. You cycle past game reserves to the pretty Diepenbrock Castle, where you can take a break in the café.

On beautiful cycle paths you head to our neighbours in the Netherlands: protected moors, various mills, the town of Winterswijk and a beautiful bathing area near Bredevoort await you. Back in Germany you cycle past the island pool Bahia and the Langenbergpark back to the attractive centre of Bocholt.

Trail Reviews

Annette🏞️⛰️🥾🚲
May 20, 2024, 🇳🇱/🇩🇪Landvergnügen mit Dagmar und Hans

Today we met up with Dagmar and Hans quite spontaneously. We arranged to meet in Bocholt and wanted to cycle from there to Holland. I was supposed to take the lead. The motivation was great, the mood was good and the men set off straight away. The two of us followed. But a flat tire prevented me from doing so. What a bummer. We first had to "whistle" the men back. Then we thought for a moment about what could have happened. "Flatless tires 🤔" First we pumped up the tires and set off again. The first forest avenue was beautiful. We had to take a group photo first. Wonderful. After a short time we realized that a tube change was essential. With combined forces, Ralf and Hans managed it brilliantly. I held the bike and Dagmar was responsible for securing the path. We were a dream team. Now we could cycle on without a care in the world, from avenue to avenue in a beautiful landscape, pure nature. We stopped twice and also took a little detour through Winterswijk. I particularly liked Bredevoort. There are bookshelves all over the town. It's a shame we were in Holland and I don't speak Dutch. I wouldn't have been able to leave the town. Conclusion of the day: 1.We met two lovely Komootlers today and had a lot of fun together, we'd love to do it again 🤗 2.There are wonderful cycling routes in Holland👍 3.We cycle more often in Holland now 🇳🇱

Spontaneously .. the ..🚴🏽‍♀️🚴..tour suggestion.. from..@Annette🏞️⛰️🥾🚲 .. was implemented into a joint introductory tour. 🙋‍♂️🙋🏻‍♀️.. We started with the 🚴🏽‍♀️🚴🚴🏽‍♀️🚴from a free parking lot in Bocholt.. ..where after a short distance... we had a flat tire, which Ralf and Hans fixed relatively quickly...👍.. so that we could continue our planned..🚴🏽‍♀️🚴🏽‍♀️🚴🚴.. tour... we kept going through super beautiful green tree-lined avenues..🌳🌳🌳.. great Dutch fietspads.. to our first destination...👍..at the mill near Winterswijk. , where we took our first break... in a good mood... with a cool blonde 🍺🍺🍺🍺.., the men...⚽️... had conversations, Annette and I looked for nice photo subjects...🫶... Our tour continued to the great town... Bredevoort, a paradise for bookworms. ..📚📚..On every street corner of the Dutch village, antiquarian bookshops await those hungry for reading, in Dutch...😄.. It was an all-round lovely tour with Annette and Ralf, as we got on well right away and had a lot of fun together... ,😄😄 We are already looking forward to meeting up again for a joint tour...🙋🏻‍♀️🙋‍♂️

An absolute highlight tour through charming towns and along beautiful, varied, narrow paths. Climbing the tower of the Jacobskerk church in Winterswijk with its wonderful panoramic view is simply breathtaking! Information on opening hours and admission: www.jacobskerkwinterswijk.nl/

First of all, the tour to the Netherlands was really great. Here, the journey is the destination. Beautiful scenery paired with wonderful nature and great paths. There was plenty of greenery, small (currently partially dry) streams, and a watermill to see. I found the original here: www.niederrhein-tourismus.de/tour/koffie-met-gebak-tour-tagestour-hohe-mark-radroute-c433cde999 It was supposed to stay dry from 12:30 p.m., so I got a new bike rack and installed it before setting off. It stayed dry until 1:00 p.m., then there was another heavy downpour. A few large, thick oak trees saved me. Around 2:00 p.m., some sun came out, and it warmed up nicely. I've clocked up about 4 kilometers more than the original tour. But it's due to a closure of the "fietspad" in the Netherlands and a construction site in Bocholt, where my sat nav and I lost our bearings. As I stood helplessly in front of the closure in the Netherlands, a detour wasn't signposted, a local cyclist suggested I follow his bike tracks in the sand, which would lead me back to my route. That worked well until I reached forest floor, where there were no more tracks. But from then on, my sat nav knew how to get back to my route. Despite that, the detour was still an additional highlight of the tour. I highly recommend it. Sorry for the long text. I wish you a nice week.

It was a wonderful day to be together with almost all of our colleagues again. We ate well, enjoyed delicious drinks, and had a lot of fun. See you next time 😃

Today I went on a bike tour through the Achterhoek to Winterswijk. First it went to Bredevoort and on through the beautiful landscape to Winterswijk and from there along the old railway line back to Bocholt.
