August 3, 2024, Wasser, Silber, Edle Krone ... die Ritter Theler Tour!

... Today I went on another beautiful and scenic hike near Klingenberg and the Tharandter Forest. The start was at Klingenberg - Colmnitz train station, we went to Neuklingenberger Höhe and then on to the Streichholzbruecke and over the dam of the Klingenberg dam. It was early, so we didn't meet anyone. We continued on to the Wilde Weisseritz, past the Aurora Stollen, which had guided tours today for Saturday. I didn't go on any because I was a bit short on time today. Continue towards Dorfhain, over the Ochsenberg to Hoeckendorf, then to the "Huthaus am Richtschacht" rest area, descend to Edle Krone and continue along the railway to the Seerenteich and to Klingenberg - Colmnitz train station. Wonderful hiking weather 🌤️🌬️ not too hot like the last few days, but still very humid. It was fun again. 🤠🥾🌞🤣

Tour test number three. From the free P&R 🅿️ in Klingenberg-Colmnitz, we set off for Neuklingenberger Höhe, continuing over the matchstick bridge to the TS Klingenberg dam. Then we followed its outflow, the Wilde Weißeritz🌊, to Dorfhain, taking a shortcut in Klingenberg via Glücksberg... (official route). Unfortunately, the animals in the game reserve were very well hidden😕. From Edler Krone, we followed the Wilde Weißeritz🌊 again (unfortunately, quite a stretch on the road🤨) and then disappeared into the Seerental😁 - a paradise for cyclists, of which there were plenty. Now a shortcut through the Tharandt Forest, and we were back at the car. Except for the Seerental, it was a secluded and, in places, very nature-oriented hike with occasional beautiful views of the surrounding area. The path often runs near water and you can see many traces of mining⚒️, we were also in the town of Edle Krone but we didn't see any knights😉 - the Thelers were an old noble family from Freiberg and owned Ezgruben in Höckendorf and the surrounding area, for example.

I have a few Roth hiking guides at home. A few weeks ago I discovered and bought one from Central Saxony. Today I hiked the first tour out of it. Tour 16 "Wilde Weißeritz". I didn't start in Edle Krone, but in Klingenberg on the parking lot, about 2 km below the dam. Past the matchstick bridge to the restaurant + hotel Neuklingenberger Höhe. Later through the Tharandt forest to the Seerenteich, on to Edle Krone. With a short detour to the beautiful train station. From the village grove you only touch the entrance to the village. The way back to Klingenberg is always along the Wild Weißeritz. Great tour, especially in wonderful autumn weather like today.

Hiking friend Hans found this beautiful tour in a hiking guide and we hiked it with a lot of joy in mostly sunny weather. It was a great pleasure to learn a lot about the mining industry in the Wilden Weißerritz valley. A sharp and rather cold wind blew us fairly quickly from the Neuklingenbergerhöhe into the Seerenbach valley, where the Seerenteich was another hiking highlight, because it offered the opportunity for a picnic thanks to the benches set up by the Dorfhain nature and home association. Because we didn't catch the train on time at 4:27 p.m., I had enough time to photograph the Edle Krone station from all sides.

A touch of snow and three hours of sunshine - the trip was worth it!
