Really a really great route, mostly beautiful paths, no steep climbs, but still lots of beautiful views. And the 3 Touringen stamp locations are at really well-made huts. 👍
Today's tour took me to Reschwitz in the Thuringian Slate Mountains/Upper Saale Nature Park, as this is one of the starting points for the Bee and Nature Trail between the Saale Valley and the Saalfelder Höhe Mountains. An entire bee hiking network has now developed around this nature trail. I found the tour to be very varied. It leads across meadows and through forests, as well as through several valleys, such as the wild and romantic Gißratal. In addition to the many rest stops, there are always panoramic views of the beautiful surrounding countryside. Unfortunately the sun didn't come out today...but even in the drizzle it was a nice walk on the bee trail...a particularly beautiful place is the Babajaga Hut...
We wanted to use the snow on a hiking tour on the Bienen hiking network on the Saalfeld Heights. Kerstin used the “free” and the hiking boots🥾🥾💪🏻were put on and off into the snow❄️❄️❄️🌨🌨. Today's Touringen bee migration network tour led to Saalfelder Höhe. The circular hiking trail starts in Reschwitz, just outside the gates of the city of Saalfeld. From here the path leads a few kilometers uphill to Lositz. The section through the Gißrabachtal is very idyllic, although a little-used road also runs through the valley. Of course I couldn't wait to reach the Baba Yaga hut and chose the climb to the hut from the Gißra Valley. After a break, I went back down into the valley and followed the path to Lositz. Here you have reached the highest point of the tour. It then goes gently downhill to Knobelsdorf. From here the detour to the Baba Yaga Hut is shorter and not as steep. From Knobelsdorf we continue on forest paths towards Weichwitz and from there slightly hilly back to Reschwitz. Overall, a nice tour with lots of information boards about bees and other insects. In all places there seems to be an opportunity to refresh yourself with a drink in the warmer months.
The turnoff from the tour is a short detour to the Stargate (portal) 🥰
