Cycling

This is a pleasant, varied tour. You cycle along cycle paths and forest paths, past several beaches, around three lakes and at the end you return to the starting point. On the way you have numerous opportunities to swim in the lakes or have a delicious meal on the lakeshore. If you would like to cycle a little further, you can extend the tour to include a few detours.

It starts in Eugendorf. Obertrum is quickly reached. From here you first drive towards the lake and can explore the first of many boat piers. The lido is right next door and is the ideal place to end the day after the tour. Your route takes you along the lakeshore to Matzing. Here you have the option to turn towards Teufelsgraben. The gorge is a geological feature. A wildly romantic circular hike through the Teufelsgraben takes about two hours. Otherwise you just cycle on to Seeham.

Of course you will find another beach in Seeham. A special feature of the place is the lake stage. In the summer, the people of Seeham put on plays here, but even when there is no event, you have a beautiful view over the lake from the upper rows of seats. After you have circled Grabensee and Mattsee next, you will reach the town of Mattsee. A museum here gives you the opportunity to discover the life and work of Ferdinand Porsche. Numerous historical exhibits fascinate young and old. You would have to make a short detour to Mattsee Castle, but the breakfast and cakes are excellent here.

The Hansenbauer farm shop and the Gebertsham branch church are on your route and are worth a visit. Past the Wartstein you finally cycle back towards the starting point at Obertrumer See. Now you deserve some refreshment. The Obertrum lido is already waiting for you.

If you would like to stop off along the way, we can recommend the Entenwirt, the Gasthof Fürst, the Stiftskeller Mattsee and the Braufgasthof Sigl for hearty delights. If you prefer something sweet, you can find delicious cakes in the BioArt Campus, the Neuhofer pastry shop and in Mattsee Castle.

A great place to end the day after a strenuous bike ride. There is really a lot of space and lots of opportunities to get into the water via jetties or the bank. For children there is a children's pool in the lake, a playground and table tennis tables. And if you get hungry after a swim in the lake, you have a wide selection of classics in the self-service restaurant, from schnitzel and pastries to ice cream and drinks.

You can find the current prices here: oitner-urlaubamsee.at/strandbad.

Seebühne Seeham

Highlight • Structure

The Seeham lake stage lives from the commitment of the people of Seeham. The curtain rises in the community twice a year: at Carnival and at the start of the summer holidays. The actors are amateurs, but they are full of passion. Almost the entire town helps with the organization on a voluntary basis. In addition to the noticeable warmth, the setting of course plays a major role: When the sun sets in the evening and is reflected in the water, the atmosphere is simply very special.

You can find current information about the performances here: seebuehneseeham.at.

Strandbad Seeham

Highlight • Beach

The Seeham lido is barrier-free and therefore really suitable for everyone. Here you can enjoy the lake, lie in the shade under the trees or find action on the Aqua Jump and a 40 meter long slide. You will find the right antidote for your hunger and thirst in the beach buffet or in the café.

Admission for adults normally costs 6.90 euros, but you can also buy half-day tickets for 5.50 euros from 1:30 p.m. and evening tickets for 3.40 euros from 4:30 p.m. Of course, there are also reduced prices for children, families and seniors, for example.

Wartstein Rock on Obertrumer See

Highlight • Natural Monument

The Warstein is a real knockout. The stone is 700 meters long, 80 meters wide and 50 meters high in the landscape and protrudes into the lake. You can cycle around it or take a break and climb up briefly. At the top you will find the Warstein Chapel on the west side or you can enjoy the view of the lake all the way to the northern Limestone Alps from the Steinspitz.

A varied up and down took us to wonderful alpine roads with fantastic views but also to quiet forest paths. The only tip: take enough food and drink with you. There is little to find along the way or it is closed.

A nice recommended route. However, neither our top speed exceeded 100 kilometers per hour, nor was there over 1000 meters of altitude on the tour. Komoot had a glitch in the church again.

beautiful round trip in a wonderful landscape

from km 29.2 to 31.8 no bike path-only narrow hiking path-but OK for driving

The shores of the lakes are mostly private property, many are cottage villages. You can cycle through these, but it's probably no fun during the bathing season. In the low season, however, these sections are closer to the lake and clearly enhance the bike tour.
Otherwise, the bike tour is varied. There are through-roads as well as an idyllic landscape …

Today we're going on a bike tour again 🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️🚴‍♀️ to the Trumer Seen. The journey is by Bike Shuttle 🚗

This morning I was quite silly and forgot the handlebar bag 🙄 Fortunately, I can connect Lotta 🤸‍♀️ to my phone and thus use the battery 🔋 and navigate.
