Nice little route despite mass migration and dog route🐕😎
Start: "Old Cemetery Chapel of the LWL Clinic" Another lovely hike. The Teuto loops and shorter trails are always a great option. They are well-marked and varied. Today we extended the shorter loop a bit to go directly to the mountain café. - Plan ahead for a Sunday or in the summer when the café is open. It's well worth stopping there.
The sun was able to drive away the fog and the hoarfrost melted along the way. Great atmosphere! The canyon is apparently too deep at this time of year and the sun doesn't reach it. That's why it doesn't shine as beautifully in turquoise. The upper part makes up for it in these conditions, though.
After hiking the longer of the two Canyon tours, the Teutoschleife Canyon Blick, a few years ago (https://www.komoot.com/de-de/tour/1276495752), we are now taking on the shorter variant, the Teutoschleifchen Canyon Tour. This short premium walking trail also circles the canyon, a former limestone quarry, on a beautiful mix of forest paths and trails along the surrounding fields. You first look down on the canyon from the two higher viewpoints, Ziegenhütte and Kleeberg, and can already see the emerald green shimmering water from there. Start from the Sculpture Park car park. Before the day we had a musical evening 💝 and announced and made a little hiking day for the next day. Besides chatting and taking photos a lot, we walked so very slowly and enjoyed the time. Light and varied. We had a lot of fun under a blue sky 🍀
From the Sculpture Park parking lot, where we parked our motorhome, we headed along the Teutoschleifchen Canyon Tour. A lovely Sunday stroll ☀️
The ascents were difficult for me in the heat. But the views of the canyon and the surrounding area fully compensated me. Next time I'll also make time for the hydrangea garden.
I think the route is good for people who don't have problems with climbs and descents and are looking for a nice route.
