This idyllic hiking tour offers a varied hike to the Danube through various landscapes. Extensive floodplain meadows bear witness to the former hunting importance of the floodplain around the former imperial hunting lodge Eckartsau. Eckartsau Castle is a building in Eckartsau, not far from the Danube floodplains in the Marchfeld region of Lower Austria, which was converted from a castle into a hunting lodge. It went down in history as the last domestic residence of Emperor Charles I after he renounced any part in state affairs on November 11, 1918. Hike 👣 The path also leads through the Eckartsau castle park, which was laid out around the castle as a spacious landscape park around the castle about a hundred years ago and today has once again revealed all its charm. Advent in Eckartsau Castle ⭐️ The Advent market in the former imperial hunting lodge Eckartsau is perfect for getting in the mood for the pre-Christmas period.
Eckartsau Castle: Admission only with a guided tour; with the NÖ Card you save €14.50. The castle grounds can be visited free of charge.
