Hiking
The Taillon peak is one of the easiest peaks to access at over 3,000 meters in the Pyrenees. It peaks at 3,144 meters above sea level, on the French-Spanish border, in the Monte Perdido massif.
Le Taillon offers a breathtaking view of several remarkable sites in the Pyrenees. Note that, if you wish, you can shorten the route by stopping at Brèche de Roland.
The route starts at the Col de Tentes car park located upstream of the Gavarnie ski resort. The first section remains relatively flat until reaching the Taillon glacier waterfall. Be careful if some snowfields persist when you cross the waterfall. The climb becomes steeper on rocky terrain which takes you to the Sarradets refuge. Freshly renovated, it offers a very nice break with a direct view of the famous Breccia de Roland and, further on, the Gavarnie cirque and its immense waterfall. Take the opportunity to stock up on water before climbing up to the breach.
This imposing wall marks the border with Spain. When you cross it, a completely different landscape opens up to you and you can see the Ordesa canyon in the distance. You follow the cliffs of La Brêche on the Spanish side towards Taillon. You pass a large rocky mound nicknamed the Taillon finger, then the final ascent begins.
At the top, the spectacle is simply grandiose. The diversity of natural elements seems unlimited: the Gavarnie cirque, the Roland breccia, Mont Perdu, the Ordesa canyon and the Vignemale.
This hike can be done in one day, but you can sleep at the Sarradets refuge or bivouac at the summit of Taillon. I highly recommend it to offer you an unforgettable sunrise and sunset. You can also find a few pitches at the foot of the Brèche de Roland, on the Spanish side.

This route was planned by komoot.
The app was a bit messed up. We climbed 1050m, not 930m. We also went for a day, so we didn't do the whole hike in 4 hours, as stated in the hike details.
My first peak over 3000m! komoot was in the cabbage he did not capture it was 16km for more than 1000 d + I am rinsed but it was to do so magnificent the view at the top it makes you want to do more
Hiking of medium difficulty but a little technical on certain portions, A must-see on the 65
