Cycling

This is a 54 kilometer circular route through the Comacchio valleys. You cycle through this natural beauty with the water surrounding you and glimpse the Adriatic Sea before entering the valleys where many water birds reside, including pink flamingos.

Depart from Comacchio and cycle towards the seaside villages: Porto Garibaldi, Lido degli Estensi and Lido di Spina. You head inland and the panorama of the Comacchio valleys opens up, wide, wild and far from the organized beaches of the lidos.

The cycle path is on the surface of the water for about seven kilometers and is a spectacle - you pedal with the sea surrounding you. And if at a certain point you hear an increasingly louder noise, don't worry, it's just the chatter of the flamingos resting on one paw in the water. In fact, this cycle path is known as the "Angels' embankment", precisely because of the wings of the many birds that reside here.

The route then takes you along a smooth asphalt road, where the wheels of your bike roll quickly. In the last ten kilometres, however, you pedal on the dirt and grassy road until you return to the starting point, Comacchio.

Highlight • Beach

The name of the town gives its name to the ancient pine forest in which it is located. Of all the Ferrara beaches it is the most residential but particular for its urban planning and semi-circular roads and the streets are dedicated to artists. The beach is wide and the establishments offer many opportunities for fun.

Tour of the Comacchio valleys, mainly an easy dirt road with no difference in height, remember water and food along the way because there is only one refreshment point before Comacchio.

Known as “little Venice,” Comacchio is famous for its many canals connected by the Trepponti. The Delta Antico museum is worth a visit where you can discover the history of this area.

The west side is a shared road with normal traffic. Few Italians are polite and respectful behind the wheel.

The Ciclovia delle Valli di Comacchio is certainly one of the most beautiful cycle paths in Italy. It allows you to pedal, on long entirely cycle-friendly routes, within the Unesco Biosphere Reserve of the Po Delta Park. A must-see tour for all lovers of nature, freedom and a slow pace. ✅️Explore the tour on https://eorapedala.it/valli-comacchio-bici/

We finally managed to do this tour. In some parts it was very interesting, in others it left me doubtful. More than 10 km on a highway with high-speed cars. (I can't imagine in high season) The passage on the lake simply phenomenal. From the ferry in Comacchio, you can fly over.

Very nice route all on a cycle path and a lot of well-maintained white road. But beware of mosquitoes found in swarms very but very annoying

It is a circular tour that immerses you in the nature of the valleys, far from urbanized places, not very crowded, at least in October, but very fascinating

What can I say? Sunshine all morning, no one or very few people around, so the embankments and streets were clear! We ate well, drank enough, and laughed a lot. Peace and quiet everywhere, great cellular oxygenation, and physical and mental regeneration! A perfect day.

Ride without difficulty but with pink flamingos and other fauna a few meters away with the new cycle path that crosses the valley Spectacular only one negative thing: mosquitoes
