From Soldeu, the hike begins along a mountain path lined with rhododendrons. Unfortunately, the vast number of rhododendrons were no longer in bloom. This must be a stunning place in bloom. The trail continues through shady pine forests and across alpine meadows to the crystal-clear mountain lake of Siscaro. A steady climb then leads to the Pas de les Vaques, which offers magnificent views of the Andorran mountain backdrop. Marmots and griffon vultures have also been observed.
