Hiking
This route departing from the city of Aix-en-Provence allows you to discover little-known aspects of the spa town. This is not an urban hike, quite the contrary. Heading east, you explore the tiny Sainte-Victoire national nature reserve. Barely 140 hectares, it was created in 1994 to protect the dinosaur egg…

This route was planned by komoot.
Celebrated my birthday with a day off work, and a hike into the hills. We'd hoped to visit the Frioul islands, but the winds were blowing like crazy. We were (strongly!) advised not take the boat because the crossing would be awful and that we might not be able to return. Didn't fancy taking that chance! So we aborted the mission, and instead took the bus to Aix-en-Provence. We took a taxi to Canyon des terres rouges to start this walk into the hills... A lovely hike - super hot but sheltered enough that the wind was quite pleasant. Lac de Bimont was really beautiful and the dam was quite a sight. We walked all the way into Aix-en-Provence, a really picturesque town where we stayed for a drink and dinner before taking the bus back to Marseille. Not a bad back up plan!
