This route was planned by komoot.
I rode the tour over the Alpe Costa for the first time 3 years ago with Lukas Stöckli as part of a Ticino Single Trail Camp, 2021 for the second time and today with my friend Dudu for the third time. But the conditions weren't as good and dry as today the first few times and that's why it was really cool to drive over and around the surrounding stone blocks today. However, it was still challenging and only recommended for those who love rough descents and don't shy away from hundreds of stairs. My tour description from the last round in 2021: https://www.komoot.de/tour/388233479?ref=itd
https://youtu.be/1s36oYZsAmA Over Bellinzona, the Motto d‘Arbino offers a beautiful panorama over Lake Maggiore and is peppered with a crisp descent through birch forests. But at the alp, which is open all year round, we took a refreshment and marveled at the capricious weather. A few hundred meters later, it was all over and the dusty trails greeted us with a broad welcome. The conclusion, however, are some trails with lots of stairs. Those who love them will enjoy it here. A film is worth a thousand words. @ Rolf: Thank you for this great tour and the guiden ☺️.
Start of today's tour Bellinzona, destination on the mountain the Capanna Gesero. But the polenta with the ticinella had to be worked out first. Up to the Capanna 1500Hm have to be mastered. In the last quarter of the ascent, you also need the last grains on the inclines of up to 16%. Then just down to the Alpe della Costa and from there the fun starts. The S2 trail leads through beautiful chestnut forests, in which large granite blocks show you the way and sometimes also block the way or require you to find the ideal line. Again and again you come across the Alps, which give you a magnificent view of the Magadino plain. In the lower part past Paudo and Pianezzo, the spring elements are then put under a lot of pressure over hundreds of stairs. You should not be inattentive for a moment, the granite stairs do not forgive any mistakes. It goes down steeply to Giubiasco. That's where the fun ends. A cool tour!
