This dream loop offers a wonderful view of the UNESCO World Heritage "Upper Middle Rhine Valley" from many points. A highlight of this tour right at the start is the observation tower on the Spitzen Stein, where you get an immediate overview of what awaits you on this hike. From the Klüppelberg you have a wonderful view of Oberwesel all the way to Pfalzgrafenstein Castle. Various benches, loungers and picnic areas can be found all along the way. Finally, the unique view of the Loreley rock opens up from several locations. A truly outstanding tour!
Great weather was today. 🫶⚓️ Details to follow...Je suis fatigué 😉 Have a nice Sunday everyone 🙋♀️
https://www.saar-hunsrueck-steig.de/traumschleifen/traumschleife_mittelrhein Instead of the Spitz Stein, I started in the village of Biebernheim in order to hike the somewhat longer ascent to the Spitz Stein at the beginning of the tour and not at the end.
A very beautiful and varied hike, where you are rewarded with a great view over the Middle Rhine Valley and the Loreley. With summer temperatures and great weather, it was an all-round successful trip.
Tour template: https://www.wanderinstitut.de/premiumwege/rheinland-pfalz/mittelrhein/ Since I stayed the night in Düsseldorf for a company party, I took the IC towards Koblenz this morning. I picked this newer Saar-Hunsrück dream loop because of the nomination for Germany's most beautiful hiking trail, because I want to hike some of the nominations myself. So here I have to say very clearly that it was one of the most beautiful tours I've gone on so far this year. The 93 experience points that were awarded here are justified. There are many impressive things to see and the route is very varied, so long straight-ahead paths are not included. 😉 I started at the St. Goar train station. The path to the Traumschleife is marked and easy to find. It is initially quite steep many stairs up to Biebernheim. Once you have passed through the village, it is always quite moderately uphill and with good views, first along fields, then through the forest to the Spitzenstein, which is the first highlight of the tour. When the weather is good, you will certainly have a perfect all-round view from the lookout tower. For me it was a bit too cloudy in the direction of the Rhine. So it soon went down again in the direction of the Rhine past Niederburg, where there were flowers and a Kneipp pool. If you come along Oberwesel with the tour, you always have particularly impressive views of the Rhine and the adjacent castles. The entire following section is characterized again and again by viticulture and attractive landscape. Of course, the views of the Loreley and finally Katz Castle near St. Goarshausen are particularly beautiful. All in all an absolute must!👍
Great the dream loop. Beautiful panoramic views of the Rhine. What more do you want? 👍
A beautiful, hilly route in perfect hiking weather with good company. What a gift!
