I made this walk on a drizzly day with a strong south-westerly wind. On the way there the 8 km long path through the nature reserve with wind and rain in the back. The way back via the beach, where I saw almost nothing through my raining glasses. I had imagined a lot of the view of Ameland, but I have to come back for that. As well as for observing the many birds in this area. It was mainly a physical effort, including the 16 km bike ride to and back to Midsend, on the way back in a fierce headwind.
