Circumnavigate the impressive Sella massif in a single day. This is made possible by a total of seven lifts and the Super Summer Ticket, which reduce the 3,200 metres in altitude that you would otherwise have to climb to a moderate 400 metres. This turns an undertaking impossible for normal bikers into a fabulous dream tour for experienced mountain bikers on S2-S3 (medium to difficult) trails. Unforgettable panoramas in the Dolomites World Heritage Site, numerous exciting trails and a biking day you won't soon forget.
Technically not very demanding but a fabulous tour, the landscape cannot be surpassed. 400m is uphill, the rest with mountain railways and downhill.
Photos not synced with tour due to app "jamming"..
Possibly the most beautiful round in the Alps. Beautiful and varied
A dream tour - even better than counterclockwise...
Approx. 25 km. downhill trail. Absolutely insane. 🤪
Sellaronda clockwise... the tour is a dream with the weather in August. The tour is demanding. My question as to whether you can take a trekking bike with full suspension for this tour was answered within the first few kilometers...not in my opinion. A MTB or an eMTB is best. I met guys on the tour who had several flat tires with their MTBs or eMTBs, which were certainly not bad... I had recommended them to ride with tubeless tires, but these are not available from the rental companies. You should keep in mind that of the approx. 60 km it is definitely 50 km downhill...
The Sellaronda ... really mega 🤩🤩 The weather was mostly sunny and warm ☀️ except for... the first thunderstorm we sat out in a shelter, the second (with heavy gusts of wind) IN the gondola 😱😱 and in the drafty gondola house on the summit 🥶, the third then in the bar 😂😂 And then completely muddy to get on the last, soaking wet chairlift 🤣🤣 The trails are partly "shaped", often natural and often quite "rough" with a lot of loose scree of all sizes ... but great 🤩🤩 Unfortunately, the Infinity Trail, today's most demanding trail, was extremely slippery after the rain. In addition to the few places that we would not have been able to drive when it was dry, there were a few additional sliding points due to the wetness 😅 It doesn't matter, most of it worked and it was a lot of fun 🙂 You should definitely plan the tour with Komoot... there are NO signs in many neuralgic spots... 😆 A great bike day 🤩🤩
