Hiking
This great hike is ideal for those looking for a great day on the trails. It explores the north and south slopes of the Rivolet valley.
The trail begins in the village of Rivolet to reach the signal chapel of Saint-Bonnet located on the heights of the village of Montmelas-Saint-Sorlin. The climb is gradual but remains accessible to everyone. The chapel, which dates from the 12th century, is superbly preserved.
Then, head towards the Col de Saint-Bonnet, then comes the Crêt des Fourches, the Col du Cruizon to arrive at Saint-Cyr-le-Chatoux. This rural village is known for being a stop on the GR 76 which connects Chagny in Saône-et-Loire to Affoux in the Rhône.
From there you stay on the ridge line between the Azergues and Rhône valleys. The landscapes are magnificent, a wild and peaceful part awaits you. The brooms accompany you throughout this portion.
You stay in the footsteps of the GR 76 until under Crêt Lacrampe, at the Col du Chêne.
This marks the return and descent towards Rivolet. You cross beautiful wooded areas before returning to the vineyards of the valley.
