This route was planned by komoot.
I had seen that the blossoms are already starting to bloom, so we choose this walk that goes past the necessary orchards. First we walk through Buren, a photogenic town. Although the suburbs and the industrial estate are not. In the countryside we regularly pass orchards that are already partly in bloom. We have a chat with the farmer who is busy irrigating his plum trees. We walk past the vineyards at the wine estate. On the way we sit down on the terrace of Prince Heerlijk. A cool soft drink tastes delicious on such a hot day. Then the end gradually comes into sight For a clog path, this contains a lot of parts on the asphalt. There are certainly beautiful spots, especially when the blossom is in bloom, but your clogs are worn out after all that asphalt.
Today we walked the Errekomse Klompenpad. Beautiful day, a bit hazy, but great temperature for walking. Started in Erichem and straight onto the path. Another cup of coffee and something tasty at the Prince regional shop. Enjoyed a delicious meal and then off we went. Along country roads, meadows, ditches and blossom trees. Some of the blossoms had already bloomed. We also passed the Betuwes Wine Estate where there are 1800 grape vines. We passed through the Oranjeplaatsje Buren. Took some pictures at the former orphanage in Buren, and finally arrived back in Erichem. A clog path was certainly easy to walk in walking shoes, clogs are really not necessary!
In the spring, we walked the Betuwepad. We were walking through the blossoming region. Now we're back. A lovely walk among the apples, pears, and plums. The harvest is in full swing, and you see farmers busy everywhere. We parked the car in Erichem and walked out of the village. You immediately find yourself in the orchards. The walk passes through several hamlets, through meadows and orchards, 50% of which is unpaved. After about 10 kilometers, we arrived in Buren. It was a bit crowded there because there was a wine festival going on. After a bite to eat, we made our way through the crowds to complete the last 4 kilometers and enjoy the surroundings.
Mostly walked the route of the clog path Errekomsepad. For the blossom 🌸 it was still a bit too early. It was a nice walk 🚶 sometimes quite windy 💨🐣
We planned to leave for Erichem around 8 am because the weather forecast predicted heavy showers around 12 noon. Unfortunately it was fifteen minutes later and the showers came 1.5 hours earlier, conclusion: soaking wet despite rain gear and no hiding places. That only happened in Buren at 'De Hofhouden', when it was dry again. But well... coffee eh 😉. We started and ended at the Wijndomein and immediately brought some wine with us 🥂. The route was very beautiful, 2/3 paved, but that was not a problem with all those showers. There were also 2 exits that were really not possible (see photos). This walk was in komoot, so I guess the owners are not happy. For the record!! Week 3 done: spotting viewpoints.
Walk before the showers start, started at the Wijndomein. Unfortunately we were unable to stay dry and got wet once near Buren, where only the Hofhouden was open. Then continue via the suitor's path😁. Most of this walk is paved, but it is a beautiful tour. You are no longer allowed to turn at the Goudsbloem sign, as we were told by the owner, you must follow the Klompenpad 1 turn further.
