I did a new tour for me in beautiful weather. The most beautiful part, although a steady climb, is the ascent to the Hunsrück heights and then the final descent. Here, you have fantastic views of the Moselle Valley. Otherwise, there's too much asphalt for my taste, including county roads frequented by cars. The route is of moderate difficulty at most and can easily be completed in 3.5 hours.
This tour can start in Burgen or in Wintrich. We chose Wintrich. If you just want to hike long distances without a lot of highlights, this is the right place for you. This hike is characterized by wide field, meadow and forest paths with some steep climbs and sometimes great views of the five valleys. There is a great view of the Moselle, especially on the heights of Wintrich.
