📆: 09/14/2024 ⏱️: 11:15 🌞 19°C we explore the salt marshes on the Guérande peninsula. The salt marshes are the pride of the Loire Valley-Atlantic region and bear the "Site remarquable du goût" label, which recognizes culinary places. Access to the salt marshes, which are located near the medieval town of Guérande, is controlled by the salt farmers. Collecting salt with the "lousse", a kind of wooden shovel, allows you to discover an ancestral savoir-faire, the famous fleur de sel (the thin layer of salt crystals that comes to the surface of the water).
