The most important sights in Nantes, a beautiful castle, an art museum, an old medieval quarter and the elegant Pommeraye shopping arcade. On the banks of the Loire, the Hangar à Bananes also attracts visitors with trendy cafés and galleries and on the left bank, the idyllic fishing village of Trentemoult with winding streets and colorful houses. Previously on the island - the Machines de l'île. A gigantic, 12 m high mechanical elephant (ours was just being serviced), the carousel of the sea worlds or a gallery of fantasy creatures, these are the mechanical creations of the Machines de l'île, they unite the worlds of Jules Verne and Leonardo da Vinci. The halls are the remains of shipyards that were once located here. The huge cranes, which are listed as historical monuments, are also evidence of this.
