The Faro de la Entallada lighthouse is located on the southeast coast of Fuerteventura about seven kilometers east of Las Playitas. It is located directly on a cliff and therefore offers excellent viewing opportunities. The facility was only built in the 1950s, making it the youngest facility on the island. The floor plan of the building is square. The tower is flanked by two buildings. The wall and the walls of the complex are characterized by gray basalt and red porphyry, which stand out from the otherwise white brickwork. The top of the lighthouse is decorated with a glass dome. The building and the tower are currently not open to the public. Nevertheless, the area surrounding the lighthouse offers a fascinating view of the deserted cliffs. The view of the tower complex in combination with the surrounding landscape is also worth seeing. When visibility is good you can even see as far as Jandía.
