This route was planned by komoot.
great panoramic tour over the ridge of the southern central mountains between Pajara and Betancuria
Found the route on komoot and hiked it. The piece of the alpine hiking trail was borderline. Otherwise bombastic round ☀️
The tour was beautiful, but also difficult. At the beginning it went up quite steeply, the way was again and again hardly recognizable. But especially the descent was problematic: There was no right way and we had to walk across country. Since the descent was also quite steep over stony ground, hiking poles would have been an advantage. Good that we were rewarded with a beautiful view at the top. I would probably not do this hike again because of the lack of a way "down".
There is also a lot to discover in the interior of Fuerteventura. The starting point of today's tour was the small town of Vega de Rio Palmas in the middle of the island. This can be reached via a fairly narrow mountain road. The first destination was a spectacular rocky gorge with a dam and pilgrimage chapel. On the way there you pass the stylish cafe bar Casa de la Naturaleza, where Peter Maffay has already performed. A whole pack of chipmunks 🐿️🐿️🐿️ was waiting for us in the gorge. Our provisions for the journey were significantly reduced after this lovely meeting. 🥜😅 We continued over the Degollada de los Granadillos pass and the subsequent Metzgergrat to Pico Lima 629 m and Gran Montana 711 m. From these peaks you have a great view of half of Fuerteventura ⛰️🤩. We now went back to our starting point on a very unclear descent path.
