Beautiful loop tour in the beautiful forest of blades, suitable for everyone if you are used to hiking 😉 it is not difficult but long enough ... It can also be done in summer because it is immersed in the forest with waterways ... Too bad that the drought of this long period means that the waterfall of the stair steps does not make it to the maximum and to note the panoramic view towards the Ridracoli dam that the water level is really low ..
Beautiful route immersed in a beautiful forest
Restart after a year and a half of stop. I am very satisfied. The times and speeds are off in that area, the GPS goes wrong. The excursion lasted about 6 hours with an hour's stop at Lama to eat. A nice route, not difficult but rather tiring.
A beautiful hike through the secluded, wild Lama Forest and up Monte Penna. The descent through the pristine beech forest at Fosso dei Fangacci is a highlight of the tour – thanks to the idyllic forest and the waterfalls along the trail. After a 500-meter descent, you reach the much-praised Lama Meadow with its church, mountain hut, benches, and camping area. A green oasis in the middle of the forest! The subsequent ascent of 700 meters over the Passodella Bertesca to just below the summit of Poggio allo Spillo is rougher than the descent, but also quite varied – and completely isolated. To get a good view of this part of the park, the tour ended with a detour to Monte Penna (1331 meters), and from there you actually have a very good view far beyond Lago Ridacoli. To see the Alps, as has been mentioned a few times, you need absolutely haze-free days. Still, it's a worthwhile destination!
Magnificent plateau, partly marshy (hence the origin of the name: lama = swampy and / or unsafe ground), nestled between woods and rocky crags, the Lama embodies all the beauty of contrasts. For about fifteen years it has no longer been reachable by car with the road coming from Cancellino, at the Passo dei Mandrioli, a road that still exists but which today is rightly reserved for surveillance needs and transformed into a beautiful cycle path. For those who want to reach it on foot, the following itinerary is recommended, of great charm for its gradual, didactic, almost textbook approach, with the environment of "historic" Forests, starting just beyond the Camaldoli Monastery, from Prato to the Pen.
Classic tour to enjoy the beautiful forest in the Fangacci-Lama area which is colored in this autumn period. The ascent from the path that passes from the Scalandrini Waterfall is rather steep and in rainy periods even slippery, apart from this wonderful!
