Low-threshold Gelderse routes - heath and wild horses on the Veluwezoom

The tour starts at the Veluwezoom Visitor Center, the perfect starting place for a relaxing walking route. Here you will find information about the area. You can also get coffee and park your car in the parking lot.

Your walk starts by crossing a beautiful bridge, in the middle of nature. This beautifully designed bridge creates a picturesque picture in the green.

One of the highlights of this walk is spotting wild horses. Keep your eyes open as you explore nature. You are most likely to see them at quiet times, as they like to avoid crowds.

Your walk culminates at the Posbank, where you will be rewarded with breathtaking views over the surrounding heathland. If you choose to walk at the end of summer, from mid-August to early September, it is extra beautiful here: the heather turns purple.

How do you get there? You can park your car next to the Veluwezoom Visitor Center. Are you coming by public transport? You can take bus 43 from Dieren station and get off at the Groenestraat stop in Rheden and walk another 10 minutes. Or you can take the sprinter directly to Rheden station from Arnhem Central Station, from there it is about a 15-minute walk.
