This route was planned by komoot.
This hike corresponds to number 4 in the Kompass hiking guide. Komoot offers a 3 km longer version that starts and finishes at the lighthouse. I was there six years ago and didn't find the hiking section as exciting. I ended up visiting the lighthouse by car. The bar and museum are closed without comment, just like back then. The weather wasn't so great today. Overcast, with a northerly wind, force 4 to 5, which made the first stretch on the coastal plain particularly unpleasant. As we crossed the saddle between the north and south coasts, the sun broke through. The sea immediately became more vibrant.
The paths are mostly well marked. Sometimes you can get lost in the amazement of the wild landscape and lose your way. But if you're sure-footed, that's no problem - the landscape is clear and you can find your way back to the path. Good footwear is a must.
On the last day of our stay in Fuerteventura, we walked across the island once again. This time at the very southernmost tip, from Faro Punte de Jandia, at around 26°C, glorious sunshine and a constant wind. Quite dry air and dusty paths. Apart from us, hardly anyone was out walking, at least on the paths and tracks. The views of the phenomenal cliffs and the dark to turquoise blue Atlantic made up for it. Shortly before the western shore, we discovered a spring, in the middle of the dry land. During the entire tour, only one sailing boat passed by. 😉
Very nice tour, sometimes difficult. The view is breathtaking 😊
