Running

The longest and most demanding course in this Collection! The Grand Ventoux takes on the giant of Provence and offers you a unique Tour.

Like routes 11, 12 and 13, the route begins with the ocher quarries of Bédoin before beginning the long climb to the summit. En route, you switch to the north slope and enjoy a breathtaking view of the Baronnies Provençales.

The route continues in the national forest of Mont Ventoux before taking a forest track with a descending profile. This leads you below the summit into the bare and mineral part which characterizes this mountain.

The arrival at the summit is sublime, if the weather is clear a 360 degree panorama opens up to you. The following part is perhaps the most beautiful! You follow the ridge line towards the Tête de la Grave. Think about your windbreaker because it is common to see strong gusts sweeping these hills.

The route passes near Chalet Reynard. I invite you to take the detour to refuel. Public toilets allow you to fill your flasks with water and if you feel like it, the chalet bar will offer pancakes, waffles and other snacks.

The descent is along the Combe de la Grave, in a shaded part before exploring the numerous valleys of the southern slope and reaching Bédoin.

The ochres of Bédoin

Highlight • Other

The Bédoin ocher quarry offers a striking contrast of colors. These brown and orange lands are reminiscent of the American West! This site is protected.

Single panoramic

Highlight (Segment) • Other

This super single, very dynamic and playful, with many small bends and nice successions of bumps, will please trail runners. But also for hikers.
The path is panoramic and offers superb views of the valley and the Mont-Ventoux regional natural park.

Mont Ventoux summit

Highlight • Summit

It is on the square in front of the old summit observatory that most of the cyclists who climb Mont Ventoux meet because the sign “summit of Mont Ventoux 1,912 meters” is there and all the climbers of the whole world wants to take the famous photo. There is sometimes a queue.

On this square are the Belvedere of Provence which offers views of the Albion plateau to the Mediterranean and the Belvedere of the Alps which opens onto the northern part. On a clear day, you can clearly see the department of Drôme, the Pre-Alps and the Alps.

By climbing slightly to the base of the antenna, you will be able to read below written on the ground, in large figures, the new official measurement of the Giant of Provence by the IGN: 1,910 meters.
