Today I once again chose a small loop from the Pappenheim circular hiking trail network. All in all, circular route no. 3 turned out to be a forest enjoyment tour at its finest. The only continuous section that didn't run through the forest was the plateau past Osterdorf, which I reached via a leisurely climb from my starting point at the Altmühl in Pappenheim. There I had beautiful, wide views over the fields and fields around the town of Osterdorf. This section is also not short on nice rest areas. Otherwise, forest, forest, forest.... and mostly on natural paths and meadow paths. The second half of the round was mainly downhill, again on beautiful paths and trails. A small highlight was a viewing bench with a view of the Pappenheim castle ruins. ATTENTION: Both at the start and at the end of the round, the official route wants to take you along Mayor-Rukwid-Straße. A boring outskirt street hater that you can avoid completely! At the start of the tour after turning into Bgm.-Rukwid-Str. Immediately behind the bus stop, turn right along a small, easy-to-miss trail into the edge of the forest. Behind it there is a beautiful single trail that runs parallel to the road. Be careful on the way back. It is worth it!
