This is a great mountain with easily accessible paths. There are no markings along the paths, just fingerposts at the junctions. The uphill is through forestry and therefore shaded, up as far as the first coll where there is a concrete path to the right, up to the Cerro Capurutxo and fire watch tower. We took this later. We first took a narrow path more to the left which brought us to Alt de Capurutxo. Fabulous views along this stretch and more to come once at the Cross at 901m. In the distance you can see Sierra de Bernia, Benicadell, Montcabrer, Aítana, Maigmó, El Cid, Cabrera, Sierra de Salinas, Sierra de Carche , La Píla. From here, we retrace our steps to the coll and walk up the concrete path to the Fire Watch at 937m. Great lunch spot with again spectacular views. Back down via the concrete path to the coll and turned left to follow an easy downhill track till a fingerpost which directed us to the right. At the moment, this part of Spain is bone dry, just a hardy little
Visit our neighboring province of Valencia, to ascend Capurutxo from the Pijirri recreational area in La Font de la Figuera. Friendly excursion along good paths and tracks.
