Thought I'd try and get some hills in... Mission well and truly accomplished! Took me quite a while to get into a rhythm on this one for some reason. But man there was some great cycling on parts of this route for sure. Holme Moss climb is definitely the highlight. 10/10 would do again. It looks scary when you look at the elevation profile on this route but this is a kind of climb I quite enjoy. Not super steep, just get one foot in front of the other, admire the views. The last 30-35km though, it was a battle for me. I think the "Peaks and Troughs" route I did a few weeks back had more climbing but I managed that route better. I think it had a few more flatter sections to recover perhaps, whereas this one was up, down, up, down. There were some punchy climbs after Holme Moss and I had to dig into my stamina reserves. But I got up every damn hill by pedal power which I'm happy with. Pace was no where but I'll get stronger the more hills I get in. Really happy to get this one done.
