Glen Feshie

Highlight • Forest

A magnificent glen that's home to some of Britain's rarest wildlife, Glen Feshie is a delight to explore. With eagles, wildcats, ospreys and ptarmigan among the many species that inhabit the area, you'll want to keep your eyes peeled and your ears out. For Munro baggers, the glen gives access to the spectacular Sgòr Gaoith and the remote Mullach Clach a' Bhlàir.

View of the River Feshie

The river Feshie is a beautiful meandering stream that rises in the Glenfeshie Forest. A trail follows the river for miles and miles. Many streams and burns flow into the Feshie which itself is a tributary of the River Spey near Kincraig.

Allt Choire Chaoil

Highlight • River

Allt Choire Chaoil needs to be forded. I was able to do it over stones but there's a tree trunk thrown over the river upstream if water levels are too high. Or just wade through!

Ruigh Aiteachain Bothy and Campsite

Highlight • Rest Area

Ruigh Aiteachain bothy is recently renovated, of stone and tin construction. It's well equipped with a composting toilet (please follow instructions carefully) and fireplace which can be used with wood supplied by the estate.

The bothy sleeps 10.

Glen Feshie is a stunning place to take a stroll or long hikes into a landscape that was shaped by the river Feshie and glaciers. Walk through rolling hills and endless fields of heather dotted with old trees. Be careful along the river bank which is eroded in sections.
