Very nice bike tour around the lake. Bike paths are mostly made of asphalt and are very wide around the lake so as not to disturb the wild animals and there are some areas where the ground is visibly caved in. Mining rehabilitation area. Highly recommend the Zum Hirsch restaurant in Fürstlich Drehna, they were even open at lunchtime on weekdays. There is also a small castle brewery in town.
After the forecast rain drove us out of Bavaria yesterday, we've now landed here and are spending the rest of our vacation in the Spreewald. This tour has been on my list for ages. Very interesting for anyone interested in the renaturation of open-cast mines 🐸🐍🪿🦉🦢
Beautiful tour, but be sure to remember to bring provisions.
