Incredibly scenic tour! Narrow in places - it's a toll. Included in the Cinque Terre Pass, and there are checkpoints that are staffed. Depending on the time of year, it can get quite busy here! We were there on Monday, June 16, when the hiking traffic was still okay. The route isn't particularly long, but at almost 30°C, it's still very strenuous and there are lots of natural steps, some higher, some lower. Be sure to bring enough to drink. Along the way, there are truly stunning views of the Cinque Terre coast and the towns of Monterosso and Vernazza. And of course, Mediterranean flora - all this if you take your time and don't rush through it like some other people do as if you were trying to win a trophy. Oh yes - good hiking boots are a must, although we saw some people here wearing sandals or flip-flops - irresponsible, but there are crazy people everywhere.
Today I completed the last section of the hiking trail. This was very narrow, especially towards the end, so we often had to wait. There were stairs going up and down again. Not recommended for small children!
This was our first hike in Cinque Terre. 👍 After the first part we had planned to go from Vernazza to Corniglia, but considering the 32 degrees in the shade, we postponed this route until tomorrow. 😉
Beautiful trail, challenging due to the many steps, but worth it. The views of Vernazza and Monterosso are endless. Vegetation, vines, flowers, and colors speak volumes! Recommended!
A wonderful path above the coast from Vernazza to Monterosso. The path is very narrow and steep and therefore mainly leads over stairs. There are many people out and about, some in flip-flops, which it is not at all suitable for. The view over the sea and the places is breathtaking.
Today we took the train to Monterosso - then a section of the official Cinqueterre hiking trail with an entrance fee of €7.50 to Vernazza. At times you really had the feeling that entire peoples were on the move 🙈🙈🙈 The season isn't over yet.
Easter Saturday from Monterosso to Corniglia....like in a caravan on Mount Everest. hundreds/thousands? of people on this pedestrian toll road. It took a lot of effort to take a picture with no people in it. The hike was very borderline, certainly very nice with significantly fewer people. Nature is trampled, yes, it's basically a pity and should be changed somehow.
