Experience: In the morning I look up and indeed see some blue in the sky. I start the ride along the bay. At my first stop, I notice that the bag on my handlebars is open and yes... the keys to both batteries are gone. I don't worry too much yet because I have... somewhere... spare keys. Somewhere, so we'll have to do the whole ride with one battery, unfortunately it's my bad (oldest) battery that's on the bike. I'm here on the Loop Head Drive, another beautiful loop on a narrow peninsula. The roads are narrow, winding, and gently undulating. Blissful cycling this is. The sun shines through well from time to time. The roads are lined with pink/purple flowers. I ride to the lighthouse and then admire the beautiful rocks and the surf. A little further on, I reach the Bridges of Rosses. First, I eat my now infamous sandwich with a good Latté. A couple drives up and asks if they can join me. They are Irish and we get talking. Again, such a wonderful conversation and I get a tour of the rocks. They know the area. When parting, the woman lets slip that the weather will be bad for the next two days, we keep that in mind. From this beautiful bridge and rocks, it goes to Kilkee cliffs with several "stacks". This coast and the Loop drive are simply amazing. We go past Kilkee - again two people are swimming - and so it goes to the Balthard Cliffs. there I have to replace another leaking tire. Stupid, I had bought two new tires, but didn't think my old ones needed replacing yet, probably a miscalculation. Eventually, I arrive in Doonbeg at a small, well-kept campsite. It was full for tents, though. Good thing my spot was reserved. There were still many kilometers left in the battery.
